Ebook About You’ll never believe the terrible things being said about the perfect president of the PTA. Attempted murder? Inexplicable accident? Either way, a PTA mom struggled for her life in an elementary school cafeteria, poisoned by a wolfsbane-laced smoothie at the fifth-grade graduation party. Now all eyes are on the accused, the victim, and a woman hired to look deeper.Ambitious defense attorney and single mother Allison Barton is anxious to escape the shadow of the low-down dog of a marquee partner carrying their renowned Virginia law firm. A win for her high-profile new client will give Allison the career she deserves. And PTA president Kira Grant certainly appears innocent—except for the toxic bloom in her backyard and perhaps a bit of a malicious streak. But no one said the innocent had to be likable—or entirely honest. Besides, with an image as carefully cultivated as her garden, Kira would be insane to risk everything on something as outrageous as the attempted murder of one of her closest friends. What about those in Kira’s orbit, a sunny suburb of moms behaving badly? What do they really know about Kira? What does Kira know about them? For Allison, the answers are getting darker every day.Book The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Review :
This looked the most interesting of the FirstReads options available this month, so I gave it a shot. It's written from the POV of two different women, one accused of a crime, the other a lawyer representing her. Even though this really isn't advertised as such, I'd class it as a legal thriller - most of the book takes place after the crime and details the investigation and trial that follows.I enjoyed the ride here. The author has put together a very well written novel that flows well and sucked me in. The more I learned about Kira, the more fascinating she became in how disturbed she really is. Although it's listed as the first in a series it has a satisfying conclusion with no cheap cliffhanger. Everything I want in a good story I found here. Try it! a strong new heroine to champion; welcome Allison Barton!“The Darkest Flower” is a well organized thrillystery that grabbed me from line 1 - It’s broken down in alternating chapters between Allison, (protagonist/attorney) and Kira, (antagonist/client); dual POV’s. Kira heads the P. T. A. and her entourage rivals THE MEAN GIRLS. Both of these are strong women and good literary figures for vastly different reasons. To avoid spoiling the story I’ll just say that good antagonists make for GREAT stories.Author, Kristin Wright, has a sequel planned for this book. That might be short sighted. Allison is a character that can be maintained and there is certainly enough material in her Virginia town to provide material to support an ongoing series. It’s a fine balance of not quite cozy, not classic or hard core. It’s contemporary and compelling with a touch of Southern charm. At times I was reminded of Ivanovich without the Italian influence. There’s a nuanced complexity to this book that’s really hard to categorize and I liked it!For those who like to know these things, there are a few soft expletives and Divine utterances are a speech pattern for Allison, (NOT epithets!). Violence is minimal and sexual content is confined to some “almost” scenes with little prose attached; barely PG level. It’s refreshing to see an author write a good story while taking the high road!A great day in the suburbs, if you like “who done it’s” that are in a class above most📚May Action & Adventure, Thrills & Chills 2021 #1 Read Online The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Download The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) PDF The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Mobi Free Reading The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Download Free Pdf The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) PDF Online The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Mobi Online The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Reading Online The Darkest Flower (Allison Barton Book 1) Read Online Kristin Wright Download Kristin Wright Kristin Wright PDF Kristin Wright Mobi Free Reading Kristin Wright Download Free Pdf Kristin Wright PDF Online Kristin Wright Mobi Online Kristin Wright Reading Online Kristin WrightBest Ravenous: Otto Warburg, the Nazis, and the Search for the Cancer-Diet Connection By Sam Apple
